Wilderwood Farm

In December 2023 Wilderwood was generously donated 10.01 acres of land in Pueblitos, just south of Belen. The acquisition of farmland to grow alfalfa for the horses as well as create a 2 acre Community Garden has been in Wilderwood’s plan since 2018, and we are so proud to announce that it is finally coming to fruition!

The land will not only be rehabilitated to become prime agricultural growing land to grow hay for the Wilderwood horses, it will also be used as a means to involve autistic and neurodivergent people who want to learn about agriculture, farm-to-market growing principles, and project management and supervisory skills.

There is a lot of work to be done. The land has been fallow and unloved for a decade. We will be actively looking for volunteers to help with the rehabilitation of the land as well as to build the Community Garden. Below are some images of our goal for what the land will look like in the future.

If you’re interested in this project, whether as a volunteer or a neurodivergent participant, please share your contact details below and we will be in touch!
